New Regulations on Tenancy Agreements and Rental Hikes
Government of Bahrain is expected to introduce an obligatory registration procedure of tenancy agreements, which will help improving growing property market. The move will certainly help to further boost in country’s progressive regulatory frame will strengthen Bahrain’s business friendly approach to investors.
Proposed proposal includes a rental increase after a period of two years 5% for residential and 7% commercial properties. Law will also restrict the landlords to increase for two years on starting of the lease or from the date of last increase. We feel this move bring positive impact in the industry. Latest survey says by implementing new law the tenants being beneficiaries than landlords.
